Volleyball academic philosophy
Academics are a top priority throughout our campus. It is a must that the volleyball players put academics before volleyball, as I point out that they are of no benefit to the team the following year if they are ineligible. The team sets a team Grade Point Average (GPA) that they vote on each year as one of their team goals. Each semester I do grade checks on every player at mid-term to determine if they are on track to meeting our team GPA goal.
It is also essential that my players communicate their academic struggles with me to allow for extra help in courses to be met. If necessary, I allow my players to meet one on one with teachers even if it has to be during part of a practice. They understand that volleyball offers few career opportunities compared to the limitless paths their success academically may take them.
Academic philosophy
It is my hope that I am able to teach skills, both physically and acedemically, to students that will allow them to live a healthy lifestyle for the remainder of their lives.
