Bill Mason Scholarship

The Bill Mason Business Scholarship was established in honor of longtime business instructor Bill Mason, Hesston, Kan., and awards a $2,500 scholarship to business students during their sophomore year.

To qualify for the scholarship, students must be advised by a business faculty member, be a declared business major, have a minimum GPA of 3.0 in business courses and be a returning student having taken business courses during their freshman year at Hesston College. Recipients are selected by the business department faculty for their exemplary work and dedication to the standards set by the Business Practices of Excellence.

Business Department Award (formerly Business Student of the Year)

To be considered for the Hesston College Business Department Award, the student must:

  1. Be focused in the area of Business
    1. Complete a total of 21 hours of Business courses
    2. Three of the 21 hours can be from the computer curriculum (the Introduction to Computer course is excluded in this requirement)
    3. Business courses must include Financial Accounting I, Management, and Macro or Micro Economics
  2. Have a 3.5 or better overall GPA while studying at HC for four semesters
  3. Show leadership potential
  4. Demonstrate an active, positive impact on the HC academic environment and
  5. Demonstrate a lifestyle consistent with Hesston College standards.
