Structured to provide an educational experience which develops students who can cope with changes in a dynamic business environment and successfully compete for positions in business, industry, government, and service. This goal can be achieved by completing both the general education arts core and business core curriculum programs. Increased intensity in specialized areas leads to either a two-year or four-year degree path.
Preparation in business can lead to a career in management, marketing and sales, administration, accounting, business computer systems, administration, medical, or legal office assistant, international business, or office management.
The learning experiences are varied. Classes include special projects, simulations, guest lecturers, case studies, field trips, as well as lectures and class discussions. Computer skills are integrated throughout the curriculum. Cooperative education experiences are available in which students can integrate theory and practice. Emphasis is placed on learning and using analytical skills, teamwork, communication skills, and decision-making techniques.
