The frame of the new Hesston Mennonite Church sanctuary, offices, library, and nursery takes shape on the edge of the Hesston College campus, as construction that began in early April continues.
The present church sanctuary and education wings are to the right of the photo, while the college's Kropf Center is at the top of the photo.
The new $4.56 million dollar structure includes a 650-seat sanctuary, which will be shared by the college for chapels, music performances, and other special events. The college will contribute 28 percent of the construction costs, up to a total of $1.25 million.
Construction is projected to be completed in March 2007, then the present sanctuary will be remodeled into a new fellowship hall and kitchen.
Wiens and Company Construction of Hutchinson is the general contractor. The architect is Kelly McMurphy of Landmark Architects and Engineers of Hutchinson.
