Hesston College students will give two Saturdays to work for a cause. Students will serve during MDS (Mennonite Disaster Service) Workdays--Saturday, October 21, and Saturday, November 4--and donate the pay they receive to MDS and to the Kansas MDS Unit.
Funds sent to the binational organization will help to house and support volunteers and purchase supplies and tools at MDS work sites. Kansas MDS donations provide travel support--gas money and the use of MDS vans--for Kansas groups travelling to MDS work sites.
Students are available to trim trees, wash windows, scrape and paint, work on construction projects or household repair, clean houses, babysit, and other tasks for residents and businesses in the Hesston area.
Last year, 25 students raised more than $2,500 for MDS.
