The Hesston College Board of
Overseers welcomed two new members during its July 10-11 meeting in
Hesston.
Yvonne Sieber, Hesston, Kan.,
attended the meeting, while Jorge Vallejos, Goshen, Ind., was still
in Charlotte, N.C., the site of the biennial convention of Mennonite
Church USA and Mennonite Church Canada July 4-9.
Sieber, a 1971 graduate of Hesston
College, serves as vice president of Human Resources for Via Christi
Health Systems in Wichita, Kan. From 1994-99, she was vice president
for physical and human resources at Prairie View, Newton, Kan. She
and her husband Gerry have two adult daughters. They are members of
Hesston Mennonite Church.
Vallejos is director of Convention
Planning for Mennonite Church USA, a position he has held since September
2001. From 1996-2001, he served as director of short-term service
at Mennonite Board of Missions (now Mennonite Mission Network), Elkhart,
Ind.
Vallejos and his wife Claudia
are members of Walnut Hill Mennonite Church, Goshen. They have three
daughters: Vicky, Gabriela, Camilla. Vicky graduated from Hesston
College in 2005.
Meanwhile, at the end of the board
meeting, Arlan Yoder, Hesston, Kan., a 1971 graduate, completed his
term as board chair. He passed the gavel to Norm Yoder, Henderson,
Neb., a 1967 Hesston grad.
Other new board officers include
vice chair Phyllis (Liechty) Nofziger, Goshen, Ind., a 1969 Hesston
grad; secretary Dee Custar, West Unity, Ohio, a 1998 Hesston grad;
and treasurer Dale Beachey, Sarasota, Fla., a 1966 Hesston grad.
