Hesston College baseball coach Art Mullet has announced that Joel Herschberger has signed a letter of intent to play baseball at Hesston College beginning the fall of 2005.
Herschberger, a recent graduate of Bethany Christian High School (Goshen), participated in soccer, basketball, and baseball there. However, he will focus solely on baseball at Hesston. His primary position has been shortstop, but he also has pitching experience.
"I'm pleased to have Joel coming to Hesston," Mullet said. "He has shown good potential in baseball, and his high energy and leadership skills will be valuable to our program."
Herschberger is the son of Mike Groff and Rose Herschberger Groff, Shipshewana.
The Hesston College men's baseball team competes in Division II of the National Junior College Athletic Association.
Located in south central Kansas, Hesston College is the two-year liberal arts college owned by Mennonite Church USA.
