Wiebe to speak at Salem Mennonite Church September 19

      Peter Wiebe, interim president of Hesston College, will be the featured speaker at Salem Mennonite Church, Waldron, Mich., Sunday, September 19.
      Wiebe will speak during the 9:30 a.m. morning worship service. Then during the Sunday school hour following, he will present a Hesston College update.
      Hesston College alumni and friends are especially welcome to attend. Church pastor Dee Custar is a member of the Hesston College Board of Overseers.
      Wiebe has served as interim president of Hesston College since July 2003. From 1996-2003, he served in Membership Services and Church Relations with Mennonite Economic Development Associates.
      He has also pastored Mennonite congregations in Indiana, Ohio, Kansas, and Arizona.
      Wiebe received a bachelor's degree in Bible from Goshen (Ind.) College in 1949, a bachelor of divinity degree from Goshen Biblical Seminary in 1952, and a master of divinity degree from Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary, Elkhart, Ind., in 1981.
      He was ordained to pastoral ministry in Indiana-Michigan Conference of the Mennonite Church in 1951.
      Wiebe and his wife Rheta Mae live in Hesston.
