Hesston College shooting guard Roxanne Stauffer, a 5'10" freshman from Beaver Crossing, Neb., is an All-American.
Coach Joel Kauffman announced that Stauffer has been named to the Third Team All-American squad for Division II, National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). Earlier, Stauffer was selected to the First Team for Region VI (Division II, NJCAA).
"Roxanne had a nice freshmen year for us at the shooting guard spot," Kauffman said. "She was our leading scorer and over the course of the season hit some big shots when we really needed a bucket. She has a great work ethic and is as great a teammate as one could hope for!"
Stauffer averaged 12.1 points per game, while shooting 33 percent from the three-point line and 74 percent from the free throw line.
Last year, Liz Sowers from Hesston was selected to the Second Team All-American squad. This year, she played basketball for Oakland University, an NCAA Division I school in Rochester, Mich., near Detroit.
