  concert at Offenburg
We traveled to Offenburg in the afternoon to give a concert. This was the first time a Hesston Choir had sung there and we were recieved very enthusiastically. This church was a great place to sing and everyone had fun singing. After the concert many of us climbed up into the bell tower and had a great view of the Black forest.

Monday, May 29 – Travel into France today. Visit Colmar and then on to our only French homestay in Altkirch. Concert tonight.

  castle
On this particular morning we got a tour of a large castle in hotkoenigsboerg. This is part of the group during the tour.

lousy weather
We were told this castle would have a great view of the countryside but due to the crummy weather this is what we saw.

  vineyard
This was just a very small portion of the vineyards we saw on this drive. We traveled along the wine route which follows the French German border.

Tuesday, May 30 – Visit to the city of Cluny and Taize. Into Switzerland and a home-stay in the tiny village of Moron. Concert tonight.

  The bear pits of Bern
The bear pits of Bern. Our first encounter with The Swiss. Many of us loaded up with Swiss army knives and chocolate while exploring the city.

Our final destination was Moron Switzerland. This Church was way up in the mountians. This village has about five to ten houses and a church. After rehersal, we spread out our maps and our bus driver Robyn helped us trace where we had been so far. This concert was packed and very hot but afterwards we walked out to see that it was snowing. We were all fairly excited about that.

Wednesday, May 31 - To Wengen at the foot of the Jungfrau.

  cloudy day in the Alps
Today was in many ways fairly disappointing in that it was cloudy. You wouldn't know it but there are some huge mountains behind those clouds.

Jungfrau
It finaly cleard up right after supper. This is the Jungfrau peeking through the clouds.

  thermometer
This is to give you some idea of what the weather was like while we were up there. The thermometer reads about three degrees above freezing and this is around 8 o'clock in the evening. Oh and did I mention that they had gotten close to 10 cm of snow the night before. This is all on the last day of May.

Alps
Most everyone was fairly excitied at was our first glimpse of the Alps.

Thursday, June 1 – Free day in Wengen to hike and enjoy nature.

  Wengen
This morning we awoke to a beautiful display of the Alps. This is over looking the village of Wengen where we stayed and the Jungfrau is in the background.

Wengen
Today was a free day ment for hiking. That is what many of us did in one way or another. This is another picture of the Village of Wengen after hiking a ways up the mountain.
