Sunday, May 23 - Today you'll have a great time with your Friesian hosts. Perhaps we will sing a few selections in the Sunday morning worship service. The church will be full for tonight's concert at the Doopsgezinde Gemeente in Joure.
Monday, May 24 - The specials for today are the Mennonite sites of Pingjum, a hidden church where Menno Simons preached, Wittmarsum, the location of the Menno Simons memorial, and the Afsluitdijk. Concert and homestays in Alkmaar.
Tuesday, May 25 - After walking around Alkmaar, we will visit Zaanse Schans, a Dutch landmark, and then go on to Haarlem. Homestays in Haarlem.
Wednesday, May 26 - We'll spend the entire day in Amsterdam, visiting the Rijksmuseum, the Dam Square in central Amsterdam, and also take a canal ride. Tonight's concert will be in a large hidden Dutch Mennonite Church. Homestays again in Haarlem.
Thursday, May 27 - Today we return to Germany traveling to Cologne to visit the huge Dom (cathedral) as well as a Romanesque church. The Dom is the highest of the German Gothic cathedrals. We will hear presentations and work on projects while at the Dom. Later, you may wish to visit the Roman antiquities museum or climb the 500 steps to the top of the cathedral. Our hotel tonight is the Flandrischer Hof in Köln.
Friday, May 28 - Hope for good weather today for our several hour Rhine River cruise! Don't forget your camera! Our final full day in Europe will be spent relaxing on board a large river steamer lazily watching the castles go by along the Rhine. To get the best views, you can sit outside on one of the deck chairs, or sit inside any one of several restaurants and look out the windows. As at any restaurant in Europe, if you think the prices are high, you're right, they are; but remember that the taxes and tip are included in the printed prices. Anyway, it's your last day to spend your Euro's, so go ahead and splurge and have fun! Our last night will be spent at the Hotel Victoria in Frankfurt, Germany.
Saturday, May 29 - From Frankfurt, we catch our return international flight to Chicago. Bon Voyage!
