Larks drop Region VI road test

The Hesston College women’s soccer team lost a 4-2 decision at Allen Community College, Iola, Kan., on Wednesday night, Sept. 7 dropping their season record to 2-2.

After falling down 2-0 by intermission, Hesston battled back with two quick goals to knot the match five minutes into the second half.

Mariah Martin (Glenwood Springs, Colo.) got the Larks within one in the 47th minute with an assist from Chihiro Hikita (Hokuto, Japan), then Yolli Conner (Centennial, Colo.) tied the score at 2-2 minutes later on an assist from Lyn Ungang (Sioux Falls, S.D.)

Allen answered in the 51st minute to regain the lead at 3-2, then put the match out of reach with a goal in the 85th minute.

Hesston recorded 14 shots on goal to Allen’s 12 and also held a 3-2 advantage in corner kicks.
    
Amber Mayer (Wichita, Kan.)  recorded eight stops in the net for Hesston as the Larks drop to 1-2 in NJCAA Region VI play.
