Larks improve to 2-0 after rolling over Neosho

The Hesston College women’s soccer team continued its fast start to the 2015 season with a 15-0 drubbing over Neosho County CC (Chanute, Kan.) on Tuesday, August 25.

Just 40 seconds into the match, freshman Genessis Martinez (Las Vegas, Nevada) got things rolling with a point-blank goal assisted by Allison Ebersole (Boulder, Colo.). Cristy Kauffman (West Liberty, Ohio) made it 2-0 with a well-timed header off a corner kick in the 6th minute.

Mika Matsuda’s (Kyoto,Japan) goal in the eighth minute kept the offense going and set the tone for a big day for the freshman, as both her and Mikaela Zook (Millersburg, Ind.) each finished with four goals.

Rachel Brown’s (McKinney, Texas) goal off a free kick in the 35th minute made it 10-0, establishing a new program record for goals in a game.

The Larks travel to Dallas, Texas for a 7 p.m. match versus Mountain View College on Friday, August 28.
