Larks succumb to Cowley County at home

Cowley County Community College (Arkansas City, Kan.) earned a road with on Saturday, October 10, knocking off the Hesston College Larks by a 4-0 score.

The two teams battled throughout the first 20 minutes of a scoreless match before the visitors took the lead. Cowley made it 2-0 with less than eight minutes to go in the first half and added two goals early in the second half to set the final.

Brittany Albrecht (Sebewaing,Mich.) recorded the only two shots-on-goal for the Larks, as they fall to 0-13 on the year.

“The girls played a good game, we missed several good opportunities that would have helped us gain momentum,” said head coach Kurt Hostetler. “Jessica Herschberger (Shipshewana, Ind.) and Jessica Davis (Newton, Kan.) were both strong on defense tonight. One thing that I can’t say enough is that this team always continues to battles to the end of every match.”

The Larks welcome Coffeyville (Kan.) Community College to the Hesston campus on Tuesday, October 13, for a 5:30 p.m. match.
