Hesston College men’s tennis knocked off Iowa Central Community College 6-3 in Wichita in their final matches before regionals this weekend.
Sophomores Riley Kingsley (Newton, Kan.) and Josiah Borst (Becker, Minn.) each won in singles play, while freshmen Garrett Roth (Hesston, Kan.) and Jeff Kauffman (Hutchinson, Kan.) also were victorious. Freshman number one singles Nadeem Jaber (Jaljulia, Israel) fell 6-0, 6-2 to Iowa Central’s Manuel Roman.
The pairs of Jaber/Borst and Kauffmann/ Kremeier were winners in doubles action to help propel the Larks to the win over the Tritons.
“It’s a great way to head into regionals Saturday,” Head Coach Chance Joost commented. The men’s tennis team finished 5-12 in the regular season under first year Coach Joost.
Barton Community College is set to host the 2017 men’s tennis regionals April 22 and 23 in Great Bend.
