The Hesston College men’s golf team completed their two-day Kansas Wesleyan University Invitational at Salina Country Club (March 27-28) shooting a combined 316 and 322, +78 strokes, finishing seventh out of 9.

Freshman Sam Sowers (Cummings, Kan.) led the team with rounds of 77, 76 (T-12) followed by freshman Chandler Roberts (Kyle, Texas) 76, 82. Corey Chalupa (Fort Worth, Texas) shot an 81 both rounds, while freshman Ryan Vernon (Centralia, Kan.) finished with two rounds of 82 for Hesston.

William Penn University won the team event shooting a 293 followed by a 297 (+30) by LeTorneau Univerity (2nd) and Rockhurt (3rd). Familiar foe Central Christian (McPherson, Kan.) sent a split squad, finishing 6th and 9th.
