Hesston College women’s basketball dropped its final game of the season 99-52 on Saturday afternoon to Brown Mackie College College in Salina.
The Lions jumped out front 22-12 after the first quarter and outscored the Larks 32-10 in the second frame to take a comfortable 54-22 halftime lead. Brown Mackie cruised in the second half, as Hesston was unable to rally.
This was the final game for the Brown Mackie College women’s basketball program, as the college will close at the completion of academic year. The Larks finished their season 8-20, and 1-11 in Region VI play under first year head coach Jeff Jacobs.
“I’m disappointed with our lack of execution and defensive intensity. We didn’t resemble ourselves,” commented Coach Jacobs. The Larks were extremely young this winter and the program will have nine of 10 players slated to return to the 2017-18 roster.
