Cavaliers drop Larks

Arielle Jackson scored 19 points, Tantashea Giger and Austin Richardson each scored 17 to help the lead the NJCAA #14 Johnson County Community College (Overland Park, Kan.) Cavaliers (20-2) past the Hesston College Larks 109-45.

The Cavaliers went up 29-8 after the first quarter and never looked back. Johnson County connected on seventeen 3-point baskets on their way to the comfortable win at Yost Center. Freshman point guard, Whitney Green (Texarkana, Ark.) and freshman forward Kara Horton (Americus, Kan.) were the two Larks players in double figures scoring 11 points against the much taller Cavaliers.

Hesston College women’s basketball will take on Brown Mackie College (Salina, Kan.) next on Wednesday February 1. Tipoff will be at 5:30 from Yost Center in the schools’ final meeting as Brown Mackie College will close its doors at the end of this academic year.
