The Hesston College men’s basketball team fell 96-72 to the Southeast Community College Storm (Beatrice, Neb.) on Saturday night in Hesston. Southeast, looking to avenge their loss to the Larks earlier this year in Nebraska, raced out to a double-digit lead in the first half, as the Larks were unable to make a run to cut into the deficit. The Storm led by as many as 24 points (50-26) in the first half and went into the interval ahead 51-31.
Freshman center Dillon Buchanan (Mountain City, Texas) scored 18 points for the Larks, 16 in the second half. Freshman forward Zac Neely (Ada, Okla.) finished with 15 points, and team scoring leader, point guard, Coye Campbell (Mesquite, Texas), was held to 11 points. The loss takes the Larks to 7-5 overall.
Hesston College men’s basketball returns to floor on Wednesday to close out a busy November schedule. The Larks will entertain Sunrise Christian Academy (Wichita, Kan.). Tipoff from Yost Center is set for 7 p.m.
