Balanced scoring leads Larks past Bulldogs

The Hesston College men’s basketball team saw nine different players score in route to a 85-70 win over the McPherson College Bulldogs JV Monday evening at the Yost Center.

The balanced scoring attack was led by freshman point guard Coye Campbell (Mesquite, Texas) with 24 points. Freshman shooting guard Collin Means (Deer Park, Texas) also had a big night for the Larks, scoring 16 points and grabbing 15 rebounds. Forwards Zac Neely (Ada, Okla.) and Heath Agnew (Mountain City, Texas) added 13 and 11 points, respectively. McPherson was led by Tyler Giron’s 17 points.

The Larks tightened down the effort on the defensive end in the second half to further their four point halftime lead. Hesston College pushed the lead to 20, holding on for the comfortable win. The larks held the Bulldogs to 32% shooting from the field.

With the win, Hesston moves to 6-4 overall with two big home games this weekend. The Larks return to action Friday, November 25 for an 8 p.m. tipoff vs. the Bethel College Threshers JV.
