Hesston College announces new women’s basketball coach

Hesston College athletic director Rob Ramseyer introduces Jeff Jacobs as head coach of the Larks women’s basketball program.

“We’re thrilled to bring Jeff to campus in this important role,” Ramseyer said. “He has vast experience in coaching, mentoring, organization and leadership. I’m eager to see how he puts his talents to use for our women’s basketball program.”

Jacobs boasts a 303-117 career coaching record at St. Bernard High School, Eureka, Calif., including over 200 wins with the girls basketball program there. Jacobs holds a bachelor of arts in journalism from Humboldt State University, Arcata, California.

Following his time in coaching, Jacobs served as an executive in the Boys and Girls Club, first in California and later in the Wichita area. Jacobs is active as a deacon at Magdalene Catholic Church, Wichita.

“I’m honored and blessed to be called back to teaching and coaching the great game of basketball,” Jacobs said. “I look forward to getting to know the returning student athletes, filling the roster and guiding these terrific young women into being the best student, person and player they can be.”
