New head coach Michael Armstrong is ready to lead Hesston’s men’s soccer program. No stranger to the Larks sideline, Armstrong was an assistant a year ago. Prior to working at Hesston, Armstrong was head boys soccer coach at Huntingdon (Pa.) Area High School where he had been an assistant for five years prior to taking the head coaching position.
Hired as head men’s soccer coach December 13 of last year, Armstrong will rely on a balanced roster in his first year at the helm of his alma mater.
“I’m looking forward to the start of a new season,” Armstrong said. “The upcoming matches will begin to define the progress being made by this squad and will begin to dictate where we are as a program. The bond we develop both on and off the field will contribute to the success we experience this season.”
A home match against Northwest Kansas Technical College on Saturday, Oct. 18 will determine Hesston’s postseason standing.
The Larks open with a 2 p.m. match Sunday, Aug. 24, at Crowder College, Neosho, Mo.
