Hesston College men’s basketball coach Dustin Galyon announces Kaden Vanderpool, a 6’ guard from Marais des Cygnes Valley High School, Melvern, Kan., as the newest member of the Larks program.

A vital part of MdCV’s undefeated state championship season in 2013-14, Vanderpool is a two-time all-Lyon County League second-team selection. Following the 26-0 season his senior year, Vanderpool was a second-team all-State tournament pick.

A dean’s scholar recipient at Hesston, Vanderpool will balance basketball with an athletic training major.

“Kaden is a proven winner,” Galyon said. “He’s a high-character kid whose leadership skills will be on full display at Hesston College. I’m excited to witness his contributions to our program and the greater Hesston campus.”

Vanderpool is the son of R.E. and Tammy Vanderpool, Melvern.
