Hesston College men’s soccer coach Michael Armstrong announces Oliver Wisseman, a goalkeeper from Western Mennonite School, Salem, Ore., as the newest addition to the Larks 2014 recruiting class.
A three-time first-team all-Tri-River conference goalkeeper, Wisseman served as team captain the last two years at WMS. He accumulated over 350 saves and 15 shutouts for the Pioneers since his sophomore year, helping WMS to a first-place conference finish in 2013.
Wisseman served as Student Council secretary his senior year. A National Honor Society member and Dairy Farmers of Oregon Academic All-State student, Wisseman will study business at Hesston.
“I’m excited to sign a goalkeeper with the experience and expertise that Oliver brings,” Armstrong said. “He has the ability to make saves that will keep us in games. Oliver is a natural leader and I look forward to having him as a part of the program.”
Wisseman is the son of Darrel and Janette Wisseman, Princeville, Ore. He is a member of Bend (Ore.) Mennonite Church.
