The Hesston College baseball team moved its record to 22-17 following a doubleheader split with Brown Mackie College on Saturday, April 19. The Larks won the opener 1-0 before falling 4-2 in game two.

Hesston starter Brandon Kutrubs (Brunswick, Ohio) went the distance in game one, tossing seven shutout innings to get the complete-game win. Kutrubs scattered six hits and two walks while striking out four.

Scott Cooper (Sand Springs, Okla.) went 2-for-2 with a run scored for Hesston. Corey Fowler (Boone, Iowa) was 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Hesston hosts Southeast CC (Beatrice, Neb.) for a three-game weekend series starting with a 1 p.m. double header on Saturday, April 26. The teams will play a 1 p.m., nine-inning game the following day.
