Follette pitches Hesston Softball past Coffeyville

The Hesston College softball team split a Region VI double header with Coffeyville (Kan.) CC on Saturday, April 5, moving its overall record to 11-17 (9-15 in region).

In game one, freshman right-hander Miranda Follette (Springville, Utah) pitched seven innings for the complete-game 8-3 win. Follette gave up two earned runs while walking none and fanning seven. Kasee Tully (McPherson, Kan.) went 2-for-3 with two runs while Victoria Cortez (Moreno Valley, Calif.) added two hits and two RBI. Ellise McGowan (Carson City, Nev.) went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI.

In game two, Larks lefty Megan Redd (Castle Rock, Colo.) maintained a shutout through six frames before Coffeyville plated four runs in the seventh to take the second game, 4-0. 

Hesston travels to Ft. Scott (Kan.) CC for a 3 p.m. doubleheader on Friday, April 11.
