The Hesston College Softball team picked up a huge win in a Region VI double header split (W: 3-1, L: 10-2) at Cowley College (Arkansas City, Kan.). The game-one win represents the first time Hesston Softball has beaten the Tigers in softball.

Cheyenne Cherubini (Flint, Mich.) threw a seven-inning, complete-game gem in the opener, allowing just four hits and two walks while fanning four. The lone run Cherubini allowed was unearned.

Victoria Cortez (Moreno Valley, Calif.), Makenna Grow (Logan, Utah) and Cherubini each had an RBI.

Cowley, who finished third at last year’s national tournament, pulled away late to take game two.

The Larks return home for a region double header against Brown Mackie College (Salina, Kan.) at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26.
