The Hesston College women’s basketball team defeated Rhema Bible College (Broken Arrow, Okla.) 64-46 on Monday, Jan. 27 to move its season mark to 11-10.

Makayla Ladwig (Wichita, Kan.) led the way with 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Nikkita Lester (Colorado Springs, Colo.) added 10 points and five steals. Bethany Snow (Park City, Kan.) pulled down 11 rebounds in 20 minutes of play.

Up 34-28 at the half, Hesston limited Rhema to just six-of-30 shooting (20 percent) in the second half to pull away for the 18-point road win.

Winners of five of its last six games, Hesston returns home for a key Region VI matchup versus Fort Scott (Kan.) CC at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 29. A win over Fort Scott (8-13 overall, 0-2 in region) would give the Larks a 2-1 region mark and an early inside track to hosting a first-round playoff game.
