Landis runs well at nationals

Hesston College men’s cross country runner Josh Landis, Sterling, Ill., wrapped up his Hesston running career by competing in the NJCAA national meet on Saturday, Nov. 9 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Landis represented Hesston well in the prestigious event that included 298 runners.

Landis’ time of 28:22.7 in the men’s 8k equaled a 5:43 average mile. good for a 135th place finish. Harry Mulenga of Central Arizona CC, Coolidge, Ariz., won the event with an impressive 24:39.5. Mulenga was the only runner to average less than a five-minute mile (4:58).
