The Hesston College baseball team picked up a pair of wins (3-1, 6-5) over Tabor College JV (Hillsboro, Kan.) on Friday, March 22, improving its season record to 14-8.

Hesston freshman Brandon Kutrubs (Brunswick, Ohio) tossed a complete game in the opener, surrendering just four hits while striking out six in the win. Preston Hornbeck (McKinney, Texas) went 2-for-4 with a triple and two runs scored in the win. Stefon Griddine (Grandview, Mo.) added two hits.

In the nightcap, the Larks trailed 5-3 in the bottom of the fifth before freshman Cory Kerbs Nevada, Mo.) knocked in three with a bases-clearing double. Kerbs, Griddine and Tatsuzo Baba (Saitama-Ken, Japan) each had two hits.

Jordan Gray (Shreve, Ohio) picked up the win with five innings of work. Alex Staley (Newton, Kan.) struck out four in two perfect innings of relief to get the save.
