The Hesston College volleyball team beat Labette CC (Parsons, Kan.) in three sets (25-18, 26-24, 25-22) on Friday, Sept. 7, to improve its season record to 8-6.

Freshman Theresa Shideler (Wichita, Kan.) paced the offense with eight kills, while sophomore Carly Unruh (Wayland, Iowa) added six. Freshman setter Maggie Lasater (Bentonville, Ark.) had 19 assists.

Sophomores Marissa Schuett (Wichita, Kan.) and Mollie Nebel (Hesston, Kan.) had 16 and 10 digs, respectively, to lead the Larks defense.

With the win, Hesston Volleyball has already equaled last year’s win total. The Larks look to surpass that mark when they travel to Johnson County CC (Overland Park, Kan.) for a Wednesday, Sept. 12 match beginning at 5 p.m.
