Kelli Christenson, a student athlete from Western Mennonite School, Salem Ore., signed to play women’s soccer and basketball at Hesston College.

Christenson was a three-sport athlete in high school, also playing softball. On the soccer field, she was a prolific scorer for Western, averaging more than three goals per game for the Pioneers, who were undefeated in the regular season during her senior year.

“Kelli will make us a better team from the get go,” said Hesston women’s soccer coach Bryan Kehr. “She is a great athlete and hard worker. I am very impressed with her character and enthusiasm.”

On the basketball court, Christenson is a three-point sharpshooter. She led her high school team in rebounding, steals and assists, and was named to all-conference teams as well as Oregon’s all-star teams for the area and the state.

“Kelli has shown the ability to become an outstanding scorer at every level she has played at,” said Hesston women’s basketball coach Dan Harrison. “I am expecting her to come in and make an immediate impact. Hesston College women’s basketball fans will enjoy watching her play with the passion and skill she brings to our program.”

Christenson is the daughter of Larry and Cindy Christenson of Dayton, Ore.
