Student pilot earns instrument rating

The Hesston College Aviation Department announced that David Rudy of Manheim, Pa., is the latest student pilot to achieve his instrument rating on April 26.
Rudy is a freshman in Hesston’s aviation program. He is the son of Jon and Carolyn Rudy of Manheim. With his latest accomplishment, David will begin work on the commercial pilot course.

Hesston College offers flight training and air traffic control programs. Flight training holds FAA certification in single-engine land Private Pilot, Commercial Pilot and Instrument Rating courses, as well as fixed-wing private pilot through airline transport pilot certifications. The air traffic control program is one of 36 Collegiate Training Initiative programs in the country, and the only one in Kansas to gain FAA approval.
