The Hesston College men’s basketball team suffered a 78-71 loss to Southeast Community College (Beatrice, Neb.) on Saturday, Feb. 25, in the final home game of the 2011-12 season.

Leading the way for Hesston were Mahlon Jones (Oklahoma City, Okla.) with 25 points and Pierre Zook (McMinnville, Ore.) with 14. Aaron Young (Kansas City, Mo.) was outstanding in his final home game with the Larks, as the sophomore guard added 13 points and grabbed a season-high 18 rebounds.

Despite the loss, Hesston finishes with a 15-14 regular season record, the third-consecutive winning season for coach Dustin Galyon.

Hesston travels to Salina, Kan., on Tuesday, March 6, to take on Brown Mackie College in the first round of the NJCAA Region VI playoffs.
