Hesston College softball coach Andrew Sharp announced Bri Nevil, a catcher/utility player from South Adams High School, Berne, Ind., as the newest member of Hesston’s 2012 recruiting class.
A three-time second-team all conference player and 2011 Defensive MVP for South Adams, Nevil will compete for playing time behind the plate immediately for the Larks. As a freshman in 2009, Nevil set a school record for least defensive errors in a season, helping South Adams to a sectional championship.
An honor roll student and National Honor Society member, Nevil will study pre-medicine at Hesston. She attends First Missionary Church in Berne.
“Bri was excited about her opportunities here when she visited in the fall, and needless to say, the feelings were mutual,” Sharp said. “She’ll have a chance to jump right into the mix and contribute in a variety of ways. We’re excited to get her here in August.”
Nevil is the daughter of Terry and Bev Nevil, Berne.
