Hershey signing makes two additions in two days for Hesston women’s soccer program

A day after the first signing of the offseason, Hesston College women’s soccer coach Bryan Kehr is at it again. Erin Hershey, a mid-field/striker from Mechanicsburg, Pa., becomes the second addition to the Hesston program in as many days, giving the Larks added depth and athleticism for 2011.

Hershey, a current freshman on the Hesston campus who played varsity soccer at Mechanicsburg Area Senior High, has already begun the transition to her new team.

“Erin has been working out with the women’s soccer team since the end of the season,” Kehr said. “She is a skilled, athletic player who will make a significant contribution to the team. It’s an amazing tribute to the current young women on our squad that in a season where we struggled for victories on the field, their work ethic, positive attitudes, and the joy they experienced attracted Erin to the program.”

Hershey herself is excited to be a part of the buzz surrounding the growing program.      “I’ve decided to play at Hesston because I enjoy the game and the girls on the team are encouraging, welcoming and supportive.”

Hershey is the daughter of Ron and Rhoda Hershey, Mechanicsburg. Both of Hershey’s parents graduated from Hesston College.
