Neosho County too much for Larks

The Hesston College volleyball team lost in three games to Neosho County (Chanute, Kan.) on Saturday by scores of 19-25, 10-25, and 18-25.

Leading the way offensively for the Larks were Hannah Hoffman (Bendena, Kan.) and Malerie Hertzler (Halstead, Kan.), who each recorded seven kills in the losing effort. Sophomore Jo Carlson (Hillsboro, Kan.) had 24 assists to go along with ten defensive digs, both team-highs.

“We struggled with our serve receive and defense, but our hitters did a better job of finishing,” explained head coach Kristin Rhodes. “Hannah had quite a few kills out of the back row and our front row was solid as well.”

Hesston is back in action on Wednesday, October 7, as they host Cloud County Community College (Concordia, Kan.), starting at 6:30 p.m.
