Larks fail to capitalize against GCCC

The Garden City (Kan.) Community College Broncbusters rolled into town to face Hesston College on Thursday, Oct. 1, and came away with a scrappy 3-0 victory. Hesston failed to capitalize on its scoring attempts and had a few defensive lapses that the Broncbusters converted into goals.

The Larks were led offensively by freshman forward Janna Kaufman (Friedens, Pa.) recording five shots, including two on goal, while fellow freshman Jessica Davis (Newton, Kan.) and Kelsey Schrock (Wellman, Iowa) each recorded one shot.

“We were able to possess and pass the ball quite well. We were able to create several good opportunities that we couldn’t finish,” coach Kurt Hostetler said. “Overall, I thought the girls played one of their best games of the season so far, we need to take advantage of the chances we get.”

The Larks travel to Could County Community College (Concordia, Kan.) on Saturday, Oct. 4, looking to improve their 0-9 record.
