The Hesston College volleyball team got off to a slow start during Saturday’s match versus Fort Scott (Kan.) Community College but rebounded and played strong the rest of the way, eventually losing by scores of 12-25, 25-21, 27-29, 16-25.
Danielle Minder (Whitewater, Kan.) led Hesston with seven kills, while sophomore setter Jo Carlson (Hillsboro, Kan.) distributed 29 assists to go along with eight defensive digs. Janelle Jenkins (Aurora, Colo.) had a team-high 19 digs, while Hannah Hoffman (Bendena, Kan.) served six aces.
“We started off slow but fought our way back,” said head coach Kristin Rhodes. “We had some important contributions off the bench tonight, on both sides of the net, and Jo continues to run the offense with brilliant precision.”
The Larks will look to get back on track this Tuesday, October 13, as they host Highland (Kan.) Community College, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
