Winfield High grad Logan Waite signs to play soccer at Hesston College

Logan Waite, center midfielder/forward from Winfield (Kan.) High School, has signed a letter of intent to play soccer at Hesston College.

Waite scored 19 goals and recorded 14 assists as a senior for Winfield High, earning First Team honors in the Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League (AVCTL). As a junior, he tallied 14 goals and six assists.

Waite was a member of Winfield’s 2008 Kansas 5A South Central Regional Championship team.

A Kansas Honors Scholar, Waite was a member of the National Honor Society as well as a Distinguished Scholar Athlete. Waite was a member of the Principal’s Honor Roll all four years of high school.

Elsewhere, Waite is active in his local 4-H, as well as with Crossroads Community Church.

“Logan is a strong player in the midfield, he will do a good job helping us control the center of the field,” said Hesston soccer coach Kurt Hostetler. “Logan also has a great sense of leadership that he will bring to our program.”

Waite is the son of Justin and Kathy Waite, Winfield.
